Revitalizing bleached deer mounts...?

I have a couple of deer heads left in the sun and they are badly bleached out. Is there a magic elixir to revitalize them ? They are my own and don't need to be perfect just passable...any dies, paints, etc. ? Thank you.

Don't.....

....color/stain them until you first seal them with a sandable sealer. Seal them, sand them and repeat until all cracks are filled, and then stain them. If you skip this step and go ahead and stain them they will look horrible.

Sorry....

I didn't make myself clear. I am asking about the cape...that is what is bleached out....I don't want to remount them.

MAN, Breck, where did that come from?

Buck,
Deer hair isn't the best medium to try dyes on, but it may be worth a shot. Ultimately, I recommend "freshening" the hide or in laymen's terms, replacing the hide and getting them remounted.

NEVER, EVER seal the antlers for any reason. If the antlers are also bleached, potassium permanganate and 50/50 Linseedoil/turpentine will do a beautiful job are giving them new life.

I read it wrong

I thought he was talking about sun bleached antlers. And George, have you ever tried to restore antlers the way I described or is it simply wrong because it's not the way YOU would do it.
