Form Size

I recently got a deer in that has an eye-to-nose measurement of 6 1/4 inches and an 18 inch meat measurement at the smallest point behind the ears. I'm wanting to use the McKenzie 6500 form but none of the 6 1/4 inch forms come close to meeting the neck sizes I need. The 6 1/2 inch forms will come close to the neck size. I commonly use forms that are 1/4 inch smaller than the actual eye-to-nose measurement but I have never gone up. Will I encounter any problems if I use a 6 1/2 inch form? Thanks!

If its over 1/2" then you might have some problems but a 1/4" should be fine

you will be fine

If you measure that 61/2 form after you get it I bet you that it will be closer to 61/4. All McKenzies form are a 1/4 inch or so shoter from eye to nose than stated in there measurements i love there forms but always keep that in mind.

Try This

If by some crazy chance it doesn't work. I had one that didn't and I'm still scratching my head as to why? McKenzie sells a replacement head for around $13. Order the size you need and replace original, buy sawing off,and glueing or just srewing new head on neck form! Enjoy!

Cut it off..

...and put it back. Take some of the length out of the nose behind the corner of the mouth and put the nose back on.
