I personaly do not like Krowtan, I would use another brand like Lutan or Bollmans Cream(what I usually use for deer),I've tried McKenzie Tan I liked it pretty good, but I really didnt get quite the stretch I wanted but I havent used it but a couple of times
I really like Krowtann and have had excellent results with it.
If you do intend on using Krowtann you don't need to weigh the cape or deduct the amount of water you use instead roll your cape up in a dry towel to dry off any excess (you dont want it dripping wet) then proceed with tanning following the directions.
hope this helps you out.
squeeze out as much as you can then proceed. Its no different then when you degrease before tanning.
Good luck to you.
water is not going to effect.
