Could someone tell me what color paints to use for an axis deer.

I've seen them from a sienna to almost a burnt umber while others have what seems to be a pink base with Payne's grey and then pintail grey look. You need to see the speciman in my opinion to see which one of these yours was. In the ones I've hunted in Florida, they are the desert tan to chocolate variety but the ones from Texas were the grey/blue variety.
Paint it like the nose on a Chocolate Labby dog.
