I recently mounted a whitetail shoulder and I did not add enough clay to the ear butts. The hide has been drying for a day 1/2. I noticed the hide startin to gather under the ear butt. Does anyone know of anything that can be injected under the skin to help form up the base and fill in the void?

I don't nkow if anything can be injected to get the desired look you want, Look in the Beginners Section, this was asked and answered a little over a week ago. Hit the little orange button to the left there and type in ear butts, you will find ton's of info there.
could try injecting some hide paste. Depending on how much void you have to fill.
Add more clay through the ear opening. use a modeling tool to push and taxi the clay into place. If the skin or existing clay inside the ear has become too stiff, rehydrate the area with a wet rag.Wrap the rag around the ear butt and secure with Saran wrap for a day or two.If you used ear liners, and they have a solid butt( IE; Epply Ear Liners), tape the inside ear hair aside with masking tape.Carefully drill a hole down through the inside of the ear and through the base to receive the clay. I would use a smaller bit and work your way to a larger size. Repair ear opening with epoxy when dry. Dan
