I hope this isnt a dumb question but i just received a deer cape that was dry tanned with the ear cartilage still in place. the cape looks great and very soft. 3 questions
#1 should the cartilage still be removed ( i think so but asking anyway)
#2If you tell me to remove them should i rehydrate the cape first.
#3 will the cartilage be harder to remove because the cape was dry tanned.
As always thanks for all the help. this forum never fails me

If you are doing bondo ears or using Ear Magic, leave the cartilage in and just be sure to turn the ears all the way to the edge. If you are using earliners, you will need to remove the cartilage after rehydration/sweating.
you don't rehydrate first, you will have a hell of a time pulling cartilage. If earliners rehydrate/remove. Bondo, leave in.
