When doing a deer antler mount, do you always put the gold braided rope around the antler burrs? The burrs aren't showing on the mount, so I just attached it around the antlers. Should I move the burrs up to the top of the mount? I sound stupid asking all these questions, but you guys help alot!

When I mount a set of antlers, I always make the burr show and the braided rope is just below that covering the start of the skull bone material. I guess it is up to you but it looks nice to see the burr.
yeah i always let the burr show with the rope under the burr. if it is a leather cap i would braid a leather thong...hehe...and use it instead of the rope
