My dad is having a full body mount of the buck he killed this year. the buck will be laying down. We were just hoping to get some pictures of some bases that other guys have used or any suggestions on the base. Pictures of past mounts would be great. You can email me at derek_workman@hotmail.com thanks for your help

This is just a matter of opinion but I think a bedded whitetail buck looks the best laying on a dirt field base with corn stalks. Thats just my opinion.

This is one area where you can spend a lot of money or just keep it simple. I choose to keep it simple using earthy materials.

Check out my gallery section in which I have a full body deer laying down. It's real effective and simple and very easy to do.

I do realize you stated the dirt base and cornstalks as what you preferred. But in all Honesty. unless you are spotlighting. You rarely see a buck bedded in the open. The most preferred bedding spot for whitetail bucks. is on high ground. With something to cover their back. a log, rock pile, heavy brush, etc., this way they cannot easily be seen from behind. While at the same time can see what approaches from the front. I would prefer to see a buck bedded up against some brush, covered with honey suckle. But that is just me. I much prefer realism.
