Fixing horns

I'm gonna be fixing a pair of sheds that a friend recently found. The one tine has most of it chewed on. My question is do I need to run wire all the way down into it. It has been chewed on on the inside, but not all the way through, like it has been hallowed out. Do I still need to add the wire for strength, because the back half of the point is still on it..Its the best I can explain.

and on that type, I usually don't run wire unless the tip or more than an inch is being repaired. Just make sure you clean out the area to be rebuilt really well. I wire brush the area real well and then wipe it clean with laquer thinner. That way any residue will be cleaned out and then I use apoxie sculpt natural to rebuild. I have found that by when doing the repair, I get it real close and then let it set over night. Then the next day, I come back and lightly sand to completly blend the area. Then stain or color. Hope this helps and enjoy.
