I had a guy bring me a deer hide the other day, it was salted, lips turned, ears half turned, and the nose is not turned. What do i do. How do i rehydrate it to split the nose and the ears? Then do i have to re-salt it before sending to the tannery?

Aaron, I would rehydrate in salt water---1 lb per gallon, (only rehydrate the areas you need softened) then turn ears completely and resalt to dry. Enjoy, Aaron H.
