Just tell your customer about the rare hairless faced deer phase in his area...it'll go over really cool. Then maybe hack off a tine or two, hell it will only emphasize your artistic abilities.
The world is your oyster.
...Tells me ONE THING! You are far from being "qualified" to do ANYTHING for a "customer"!
I do have a clue on what is going on i just asked if anyone has tried this procedure ive been doing taxidermy for over 25 years ! and have kept up with the best just never screwed around with sewing faces on
Steve,I've never tried it ,but I think you really couldn't hide the repair, but if you go for it let us know how it turns out-good luck!
...You've never tried to patch a piece of hide in to fix a hole? It's next to impossible to get a piece of hide from another animal to completley match. Even a piece of hide form the same deer has a different length of hair. Try a different deer and the color doesn't match, not to mention the length of hair.
The cape was cut 6inches below the white patch on throat thats were i sewed the hide on ,and your right both do not match my son says if i pull this one off i will be the best taxidermist around do you agree? i am taking before and after pictures so people will be able to see how it came out wish me luck when it dries then we blend
I have three pictures of the patch job . i can e-mail to whoever is intersted for your opinion
