Comp. or no Comp. that is the question!

Couple of my customers and a few freinds are trying to get me to take one of my customer mounts to the GTA Show. What do you think. Is their potential for a ribbon?

The question is...

is there potential for learning? I can't really see your deer good enough but it looks good from the picture. I would take it to learn. If you go expecting it to ribbon, if your luck is like mine, you know what I mean.

There will be some there worse than that deer, yours looks ok to enter in a professional division, Now, don't go telling everybody that I said that your deer is professional grade, a judge has to tell you that so you wont know unless you go and take it. Enter in the pro division to get a good assessment of your skills. A lower division will be judged softer. Let us know how you did.

Yes! Take it

I just went to my very first show...yes I was intimidated but I went anyways..I entered a Wild Hog and a Whitetail in the Open Division, Dennis King was the judge I took seconds on both...a 82 and a 84 and the best part was when I followed Dennis around while he criticed everybody I learned a ton! just being a fly on the way.

You are a very talented taxidermist. When you leave that show, ribbon or no ribbon and going in with an open mind, you will be even better. The GTA convention, like any other show, is a good time to look beyond what you are doing and see what you could be doing. Theres a lot of good folks there too. Take it...and have a good time!

Yeah
