BONDO INGREDIENTS?

Submitted by Chris on 5/6/06 at 11:43 PM. ( ) 68.50.172.115

Hey guys...Quick question... It apears that there are other ingredients I need to add to my bondo mix to ensure a quality ear...please give me a list of all necessary ingredients, unless regular bondo out of a can from autoparts store is sufficient.

Thanks

All the info is in the search button.
Next to that unless you've been doing it for years, it's very hard to get quality ears with bondo ears.

Try..

Polyester Resin and chopped fiber glass strands.

A key ingredient is polyester resin

Bondos main ingredient is polyester resin. You can add more to help make it smoother as you work the mix.

Take some matt and chopp it up with sissors in 1/4 length.

You dont need clear MEKP that comes with resin as that is the only active ingredient in the MEKP paste for bondo.

I use the paste in red, because I feel it helps with the coloring.

Now you can add artist oil paints Alzerinan Crimson to the mix just before adding the hardner and it will add extra color.

Some say bonod ears suck, but as with any method it is all based on your skills with the product.

1 part bondo, one part resin, add hardener, mix, then add fiberglass chop to soak up the mix until you get a soft peanut butter texture and stuff in the ear.

GO to NAPA auto and buy a can of there fine fiber bondo Part# 36 something. do not use other fine brand as they are to light on the fiber strand and will not work. also do not buy the coarse as they are to coarse. No need to add any thing to it.Just remember to rough up the cartliage first.
