Brisket problem

Ok, here's the deal, I just thawed out a buck cape from the tannery and found that either the brisket slipped just a bit or was rubbed I didn't notice it when I skinned it... My question is this... is it possible to split this right down the middle and remove the rubbed spot and sew it back up? I'm only talking about a 3/4" wide spot and probably about 4" long right down the exact center line. I'm assuming that it is possible? I guess that it would make the chest a bit smaller but I don't think that it's gonna make that much difference. just wondering how many have run into this...
Thanks for your time,
Lance!

And you shouldnt have a problem with the cape fitting your mannikin if you dont buy too big a mannikin in the first place.

lots of extra skin in this area anyway so I agree with Hogger. Just don't take out any more than you need to.

Lance, you should be fine, the hair in that area is thick enough to hide your sewing, the skin is thin and will streach easy. Just watch the armpits so they don't end up to close together. Dan
