I'm assuming you have bare spots on the brisket and you MEANT "shedding". If you do, your "of course" is full of it. It's caused by fleas and ticks. Cattle lice do live on deer, but hardly in the numbers that ticks and seed ticks do. The brisket is the frontal bumper on a deer and the armpits are always warm as is the brisket which covers the heart. Ideal places for ticks to get caught up in, to live in, to breed in and for the hair to fall out.

Correct me if Im wrong George but couldnt it also be from breeding?

When the ticks get really bad they will actually chew at them cutting or shaving the hair. It has been getting worse every year in the north east.
