Hey guys...Got another one! Whats the best way to measure out hides, when you get them from someone already skinned off the carcas, and they have no clue what it measured...do you think measurements will still be accurate? I got three hides, and they are all from a hunt in saskateuan... They caped them out for them at the camp and never gave any measurements...The reason Im asking is b/c the measures I took dont seem to be accurate for those size deer. Thanks for all your help fellas. Let me know what you think!

Try them on some formes you have ,that will give you a starting point .
which have gone like 8" x 22 x 27 or something similiar. Big swelled necks, long faces, kinda goes with the body size of those deer. These were all already skinned off the heads with no measurements except what I took off the hide and compared to the McKenzie catalog. Actually, on my first one that 27" neck really threw me. I thought the meat measure should have been like 24" or 25" [in comparison to a 19"(meat) x 22"(open cape measurement) neck which is common for around here] but they mounted up and fit perfectly on the McKenzie forms with the smaller 22" neck. Of course I was thinking 25" meat measure on a deer is probably not even possible.
What kind of measurements are you looking at?
Don't you just love that dark chocolate brown color and all that mass?
