Hey Mr. Yox, looking forward to "10 biggest mistakes" aricle

I was reading your column in Breakthrough and am really looking forward to a detailed article on whitetail deer mounts. I will probably never mount a large number of whitetails as I live in Utah, but the info will translate well to mule deer. So, how long do we have to wait?
Best, Steve

Why is it that "10" is the magic number?

I'm certainly no Bill Yox and I know Bill could come up with hundreds of ideosyncracies to fill, but after he says all of them, there's still only ONE glaring mistake that will keep a ribbon from being a blue ribbon deer. ONE single point that all deer come right back too, regardless of what number you put out beside it. Only ONE.

It's ALWAYS "ANATOMY", STUPID!

It must not be easy George,

walking around with that 4x4 up your rear. Probably even more difficult sitting at the computer. Wish you well, Steve

If you don't have talent, Steve, it won't matter anyway

But you didn't answer what the significance of "10" was supposed to mean. Couldn't it be 6 or 12, or 101? I figure I have the eyes of Bill Yox but the hands of Bill Buckner. All the ideas in the world won't help me when my talent level has been reached.

ok, heres the scoop

Steve, this is my buddy George, George, this is Steve, he read my Yox Yax and is asking based on some comments in the article. Now that you two know each other and why the question...

I guess the guy based in my Yax article spoke of ten, as in the usual "top ten" lists we so often see. George makes a good point that regardless of the numerical count we find, it all boils down to one...whether the deer is real when we are done. Steve may not have understood how George was making the point, however.

As for the question, I dunno, I think it will be a fun one to do, Larry wants me to catch up with the writing, so Im sure we shall get to it. Thanks for the flattering request!
