which article in Breakthrough did you do where you alter a deer head form? i have a wall pedestal that is 23" but cape is 24 1/2" eye to nose is fine. i'm thinking of cutting the form off at the head and then cutting down the neck to backboard lengthwise and widthwise and expanding each section by 1/4" to make it an even 24". if i get no response this is what im going to do anyways just wanted to brush up on bill's article. thanks

of being a smart a$$...I would use a telephone to solve that problem, buy the right size form. If you do modify, do it from the inside as you mentioned. It is a good skill to have, and practice is good, you will do it on about every lifesize, but on a shoulder deer your time won't warrant it. you will use the 23 incher in time.

How much are you getting paid?

It will fit that one, go ahead and mount it on that one. The skin will be loose, but will be easy to taxi!

thanks you guys, and MK

I couldnt remember which issue it was, thanks Bill the best darned hawg guy around. MK, personally I might just add the thickness of muscle on the outside using foam, unless the whole deer is literally that much bigger, then Id do what you were describing. Good luck.
