I forget where I saw this but I seen a guy put a little bit of some kind of oil around the deer eyes after he tucked the eyelids. I think it was vegetable oil maybe. Anyone else heard of this or does this to make the skin more "supple" or soft looking around the eyes? Just was wondering about this. Thanks Kevin

I use "skin so soft" from avon. It helps to preserve some of the color so finishing is easier. I also use it on the nose and bottom lip. Learned this from Ben Mears many years ago and I do recommend it.
I've used peanut oil for years, not real sure who told me or where I read it.
use skin so soft. He swore buy it.
Liqua-Tan and it works great. The main thing to prevent shrinkage is to to shave and thin those areas well. Hope this helps.
You do not need to oil that skin around the eyes. If you are worried about shrinkage, you just need to thin the leather better. I actually degrease this area with acetone after it is dry so that the airbrush paints stick to the skin better.
