In Illinois we are Required to have date taken,location taken(state and county),permit number, license number,i require a signature as well.every hide and antlers etc. must be tagged..if you mount a deer for me and i hang it in my shop it must be tagged and logged in my books as well..As far as CWD it will never happen that all things be dipped or cleaned after every animal.the price of meat is to high now and that would just drive it higher.and there are not enough inspectors to enforce it if it was a law.I am not claiming to be an expert on this just giving my opinion.In illinois if someone hits a coon with a car, we can't legally mount that animal because it wasn't legally taken.laws very , our state has a papertrail maybe others should follow if they don't require it already.
