How do I preserve a European mount for outdoor display?

I have a European mount of a Red Stag, the skull is now clean. I want to place it outside and need to know how to preserve the skull and antlers so it won't degrade due to the elements. Is there a process that will allow me to display it outside, year round, in the Northeast? Thank You

that occasionally coating with Thompsons Waterseal will do it, but again that is just what I heard and have not tried it.

under a roof maybe

Id say the only way it will not get hurt by the elements would be wo have it under some kind of rook or an overhang of the building. I dont know how long I would leave something that was a trophy to me sit outside in the weather. Good luck, Kevin
