Mannikin sculpting clay, what is the best?

I am considering competing in the mannikin scupture area and was wondering what is the best clay for this. Obviously it has to have very little shrinkage and cannot completely dry. Thanks, Steve

if you don't know what the best clay is, why would you compete?

I have used several

different clays for casting sculptures in bronze and just wondering if there are different ones for mannikin sculpture. I'd compete because I am good at sculpting wildlife. The clay I use does not look like the clay I've seen used for mannikins! Best, regards, Steve

Klean clay

sold by Matuska Supply is my favorite. Roma plasilina sold by WASCO is good also. They are both non hardening clays made for this purpose. Klean clay is tan in color, roma is green, if that matters.
Have fun!

Thank you Bill,
