Re building an unatural looking form

Submitted by Robert on 7/18/06 at 11:16 PM. ( ) 64.12.116.132

I ordered a semi upright, left turn shoulder form for
a deer from a company that rymes w/ 'man case'.
But it looks like a deer thats getting ready to be hit by a car.
I mean it's rigid with a neck that comes straight out of the
shoulder tilting to the inward and left with no natural curve.
I replaced it with a McKenzie and mounted the deer but am
wondering if this one can be sawed and adjusted or are some
forms just not worth the time and effort?
I was wanting an offset showing the left shoulder but w/
a straight on face.

Are you confident in your alteration skills? I dont think anyone here can instruct you on where to cut, shave etc.

Why anyone still orders anything from [a supply company] is just beyond me.

I ordered from him, cause he's the only one to still carry a chipmumk form. My boy needed something to learn on. And he's too young to wrap bodies yet.

You can always cut it up and use it for...

habitat/base material. Rocks and such.

I guess I was just venting

I'm new to taxidermy and chalk it up to the learning curve.
I ordered it thru a local taxidermist 'cause thats what he mostly
uses.
Starting at the shoulder I'm gonna cut and restack the neck to put
some outward curve in and am wondering what is the best filler
material to use to resculpt the shaved areas?

Paper mache or 2 part foam
