I've mounted my show deer with tru eyes in it, I can now see tiny scratchs on them, I tried glossing them with gloss but it doesn't stick to the eye in looks like a puzzle on his eye. Does anybody on here have any good advice ( besides not using them again) ? Thanks Rick...

without seeing the eyes, I'm guessing you mean the scratches are on the surface of the eye ? If so I don't know why gloss won't work. Gloss works for me if I happen to scratch an eye but usually don't because I use a plastic tool or a wooden tool and the overspray will just roll off the eye. I have to ask, what did you set your eyes with ? Some epoxies or bondo will build up heat under the eye and cause it to make "cracks" in the back side of the eye. But it sounds like you mean the surface. Try cleaning the eye and glossing again incase you have something on the eye that is causing the gloss not to work.
Yeah its the scratches on the surface of the eye. On the work bench I experimented with another eye I sealed it up with satin topcoat then glossed with gloss, it seemed to do pretty good. I can't afford to experiment on the show deer. Stuff just dosen't seem to adhere to the plastic as good. Thanks Rick...
I had the same thing a couple years ago. I called the manufacturer and he said to use futura (spelling) floor polish. I found some at wall mart. It realy puts a shine on the eyes and it fills in the small scratches.
well,,,,,,,I told you,It looks good but it ain't wright.
Future Floor Wax.
try a drop of acrylic floor glaze, any quality brand should work.
I had the same thing happen to me when I tried them, I done what Joe said and it helped. I will nevver use them again, they look okay but not great. They're not worth the trouble. I now use Meder Eyes they are one of the top eyes on the market. Just be sure and get the 34mm so the brown area is big enough to work with.
Hey Mike Rohanna, email me. I'm using hiltons forms because of you! Thanks everyone who answered on here, I'm on my way to get some floor gloss. Rick in N.C...
Heath used to work at Buckeye, he knows what hes talking about. I too use these eyes exclusively and use the same tools too. And too, i use the floor wax he said, but to shine em up!
