I have a question regarding the Iowa deer tagging regulations. I thought that I read last year that as long as hunters in a group are hunting together, and all are legally licensed to be in the woods with some kind of deer tag, that one hunter can shoot a buck and use another hunter's transportation tag for tagging purposes. If so, the buck would have the other hunter's name on the tag when dropping it off at the taxidermist. If you are the taxidermist, who's name should you use for paperwork, hunter identification, etc.?
Thanks Iowans,
Joe

When I'm faced with a situation like this, I include both hunter's info. On my paperwork, I put who harvested the deer, and then whose tag is on the deer. It's alittle more paperwork, and it can get confusing at times, but I feel doing it this way covers me if I'm checked by the DNR.
