Does anyone have, or know where i can get some good reference for a deer rubbing a tree. Ive searched the archives and found a couple of books that are supposed to show a few pics of a rubbing buck. "Way of The Witetail" and "Whitetail Rites of Autumn" Does anyone have either of these books? Are they worth buying? Thanks.

If you are wanting to see the pupil angle it stays level with the ground with the head down in that position. Any one that wants to argue that is wrong look in the break through white tail manual on page 74.
Both books you are refering to are good. Go to the mall bookstores and see them first hand then make your choice. Barnes and nobles has some others that are fine to look at. good luck to you.
I was feeding, watering a yard full bucks here in Cen. Texas
and one night I was awaken to what sounded like something
clawing thru my bedroom wall. I looked out the window and
less than than 2' from my face was a buck grinding the
hell out of a tree against the house. I studyied him for
awhile and his eyes were rolled wide with alot of white showing,
leading me to notice their eyes arent 'relaxed' when they rub.
If I would have thought that would have made a good reference
photo.
Finally I said, 'Hey deer' and he did a backflip and took off.
I just went through some of my photos on cd and have some of my bucks shedding velvet. He is rubbing the trees and braches then licking and eating the velvet. A few photos are blurry because of the movement of the deer but I saved them all because they are still usable to see the action happening. I am at about 3-5 feet on some of the photos.
