New Shop starting

I'm opening a shop and I will be renting a building for my business. I have roughly 18 years of experience in construction/remoldeling and I'll be putting a new floor in the building. The room is 19' x 34'6". Cement is out of the question, cause it has a crawl space underneath. What would be sufficient enough to withstand the salting of hides and capes? I'm looking into a 3/4 in tongue n groove plywood. Would it be wise to put a commercial grade tile on the plywood, too? Thanks for your input and advice.

Vinyl tile

I would think putting vinyl tile over the plywood would be a good combo, unless the vinyl tiles need underlayment. Even so, you could put down leveler pretty easy. Make sure that your 3/4 isn't regular OSB, but rather Advantek. It has a 50 year warranty and resists warping to moisture. A little more pricey than OSB but well worth the extra.

Sheet vinyl. You will only have two seams. Just make sure you glue the seams down well and seal them extra well. It is gonna cost you though. Get a heavy gauge the first time and do it only once.

Go to a place that sells commercial flooring and get your self solid vinyl flooring. It comes 6foot6inches wide and you weld the seams. you can also fix any cuts in it down the raod. Being it is on wood you will want to glue it down with epoxy. Do not use vct
(vinyl composition tile) because the tiles are 12inches square so you will have moister going under the tile every where there is a tile joint. If you have any questions e-mail me as I laid floors for 25 years.

buying or building a small storage shed separate from your studio and doing your salting in there. no smell, no mess.
