I really like the last one...

The others are a look good to me. How long have you been doing taxidermy? You still need some work in a few areas but it's better than some I've seen by people doing it for years. Keep it up and keep studying reference.

Good

It looks pretty good, like G dub said you need to work on a few things. it's better than most of the commercial taxidermist work around here. Reference, reference and reference.

Need to use proper References

This is a fairly good mount. But, when you look at it closely using your references you will notice and foremost that the entire finish job looks away to bright. The rule of thumb is that when you look at something and it appears to be painted; then it's to bright or overly painted. Those harsh dark colors around the eyes and nose pad need to be toned down quite a bit. Also, I don't see any shape of the caruncula in the front area of the eye. Very Important.

Your sculpting of the eyes aren't bad but, I believe that if you use an eye reference and concentrate on shape and contour you could improve that eye quite a bit. Oh, what about those earbutt's. I don't see any shape of the lower muscle at all. Also, the white paint is away to bright. Need to concentrate on reference's when doing anything. Always look for color, contour and shape and thickness of things such as eyelids, etc.

Keep up the good work and don't do anything unless you use good references.

This was sixth deer for me

This response submitted by Jason B. on 8/16/06 at 4:23 PM. ( jsnbobb@yahoo.com ) 24.247.235.22

This was deer number six for me, I'm now on number 13 and now I use ear liners without cartilage, so that helps out alot. Ive only got a basic Sally Dahlms book of reference so thats what I've been using. Thanks for your helps fellas and I'll work on the areas as described.

any other input is much appreaciated.
