My wife shot a huge non-typical Mule deer. August 13th. It has huge growths that look like nut sacks. These hang off of the bases and are covered with velvet. They are about the size of sheep sacks. They are semi-hard like early velvet antlers. The tops of the sacks seem to be velvet covered hide. He may be a cactus buck. The bases are also covered with the same kind of stuff. I have many pictures and will send them to anyone that wants to see this strange buck.
The department of wildlife says it is just abnormal antler growth.
I have been trying to inject them with KNOBLOCKS ANTLER IN VELVET TAN. The velvet on the antlers is setting up ok but these sacks are staying the same. Help! I would like to save these. Sorry this is so long.
Thanks
Rob

I don't know what it is, but I bet it is latin for "nuts sacks hanging off of antler bases". I hope this helps.
Sorry, too much time using laquer thinner tonight.
WE took a buck last year (Muley) that has balls on a couple of the tips LOL Wierd looking for sure. It was a nice big buck :) Id like to see your buck.
We are due to get the buck back this coming weekend. I have some pics if youd like to see mine :)
I'm no scro-tologist but sounds like it is a serious case of hang-em high harry disease, and there they are!
