This may be a dumb question, but I've not mounted a LS deer in this pose before so I thought I'd get some opinions before I got frustrated. I will be mount ing on the McKenzie LD200 lifesize manikin, which is lying down and was wondering how the front legs are then sewn. The legs are folded back on the man. and the incisions are of coarse down the backs of the legs on the hide. Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanx, and have a great day.

It's not as hard as you may think.Put hide paste on the leg skin, put it in place and start sewing. As you sew, twist the legskin toward you so that you can get to the seam. After sewn, twist it back in place after it is sewn.Use needles with a curved front and 90 degree back end, they work well for tight spots.Don't use straight needles. Some people remove the lower legs etc..It's not necessary. You do have to have enough relief slot for both layer of skin to fit between upper and lower leg, especially behind the knee.
that's what I do and it works great, just make sure to get enough glue in there to twist easily for you. I will be mounting one on that form here real soon. Good luck and enjoy.
The front lower legs will come detached on this form. They will be detached about half way between the knee and the shoulder. Personally I would leave them detached sew them up past where the cut in your mannikin will be , then reattach them.
