I want to improve the detail of my deer nostrils. Are there any instructional videos dealing with artificial septums, nasal inserts, painting details etc?

Make your own nose cast with silicone or alginate for a mold and pour-a-cast or bondo/resin for a cast.
Many of the supply companies have nose cast. Try an Epply's (McKenzie's) or Rick Carters (WASCO's). They are both excellent pieces of reference.
