It does not matter what you use for a form when you are beginning. As long as the form fits the cape that you have. Your skills are what make's the mount look real, the form has little to do with it while you are learning. You can have what is considered the best form ever maid, and the beginner mistakes that you build into the cosmetic side will be all that is seen. If the form has a trait that you think will help you out, go for it. I know some forms have horrible nose detail for beginners to modify back to something called a nose.
I respectfuly disagree w/ Mr.T. IMHO for a beginner McK forms are my recomendation for 3 reasons: ease of fit, ease of fit, ease of fit. I've used them all (suppliers) and for commercial work with a few exceptions McK does it.
Well actually Jims accu nose forms would bee real good for a beginner because you won't have to dig the foam out of the nose, and they're pretty accurate too... Rick,...
wise to start out with a form with correct anatomy and McKenzie wouldn't be my first choice. Especially if you are a beginner and building experience, you don't want to be fighting a fit due to a form that just isn't correct. Jack, try a Hilton Eppley wt form, I to have mounted on alot of different wt forms and Hilton's are the best I have used. The fit is beautiful. Keep in mind, you should always take the most accurate measurements you can. Good luck and enjoy!
Which supplier carries the Hilton Eppley forms.
