cleaning horns

I have a whitetail to mount and it has some of the velvet still on the horns. How do i get it off and clean the horns. Thanks

Since nobody's tried yet, here's what I'd do: Re-hydrate the velvet by sticking them in a sink with warm water to soften any flesh for about 15 minutes or so. Scrape the skin off the antlers. Let dry
. You might need to lightly sand them. They'll probably be bright white now. You can paint them bone white to even the color as there will be blood stains. Then you can stain them to make them look like other deer in your area. If the flesh won't come off, you can boil them in "Sal Soda" for 15 minutes. Nothing can stay on with that treatment.
