Drying/preserving Sturgeon skin?

When dealing with the skin of a sturgeon, in an effort to preserve it best - how should one go about it?

This is really try #1 for me, with this sort of thing, and I'd appreciate all the help.

I imagine that the method can also be applied to shark skin as well...though sturgeon do have those nice diamonds in it.
