IS THERE ANY SUSTITUTE FOR CABOSIL TO THICKEN THE RESIN, POSSIBLY TALC POWDER? ANY IDEAS?

Yes talc works - thats the basis for the body fillers like bondo. You can also use milled fiber, or any other fumed silica products (cabosil is the trade name for just one - there is also wacker, aerosil, fumosil etc). Depending what you jneed the resin thickenned for and how much you need it thickenned - you can also order gelcoat which is a specially formulated thickenned resin that clings to vertical surfaces.

or powdered sawdust. real fine sawdust like you might obtain when sanding balsa wood. We alwlays liked it because it is absorbant as opposed to the cabosil//nneosil group
