I just mounted a large Rainbow Trout. It came out well but it has a funny discoloration on the skin. Its in a dark mosiac pattern that branches out throughout the skin. It had been in the freezer for a long time and I noticed the discoloration when I started skinning the fish but thought it was just slime at first.Any recommendations for painting procedures?

That doesn't bother me a bit. I hand paint all the scales first and then begin with my painting. You see after the scales are done it's all one tone.
