I have some Pike that were damaged during shipping, they are now cracked, is there something better to use then tape and glue to make them stronger, I thought about cardboard of somekind but not sure what to use.

maybe its not your way of backing, but the way you are packing. try wood jig inside of boxing to hold fish off of all the box walls.theres probally something under packing fish in the archives if you look.LOL .Al in S.C.

Stick to the clear epoxy for such repairs. Either the Ultra-Clear or the Injectible from Epo-Grip will work. Just like when you mounted the fish, paint a layer of epoxy on the fin. Lay a piece of a drier sheet torn or cut to fit (this is thicker and will be stronger than the usual backing paper we use). Then paint a second coat of the epoxy and the sheet will almost disappear.
