ive got an old repro striper to redo for a customer. currently, its one-sided and the paint job is horrible. im going to make it 2-sided and hang it outside of a bait and tackle store. question is, should i strip it completely or just prime the whole thing and start there? just wanted to know some different ideas. also, should i use a special clear coat for an outside mount? maybe an automotive clear coat? thanks a bunch, ryan

Ryan,
I've been doing a lot of repros lately and I find that I get very pickey with the quality of my paint job so if I'm not satisfied I strip the repro down with acetone (wearing gloves and a mask), re primer and paint over again. If you try to paint over the old paint you may loose scale detail. Just my opinion, hope it helps.
