Sunfish?

I'm wondering about a fish species that i catch when visiting my in-laws in northern New York state. The locals call it a sunfish but when checking in magazines for it the closest looking thing to it is called a bluegill. It has some yellow on the belly and some sky blue lines on the sides of it's cheeks. Is bluegill what the fish is actually called and if so, could someone send me a paint schedule please.

Check out this web sight www.landbigfish.com,look under fish ID. Bluegill paint schedule check out Research mannikin's web sight,look under free downloads, That fish you are describing sounds like a sunfish or pumpkinseed depends on where your from. Hope this helps.

Lepomis gibbosus. And they are common where you're at.
