Gold Plated Stringer

Submitted by Paul on 11/29/05 at 2:01 PM. ( )

I am doing a walleye stringer mount for a customer and I had told him that I would order a gold plated stringer for the mount. The stringer was available when he brought me the fish but now in the 2006 catalog the stringer is no longer available. Does anyone know where I could order one from or something similiar? Thanks for your Help!

I happened to see them at Gander mountain the other day....

They look to much like a piece of jewelry to me though.

Paul why?

How many live fish do you see on gold stringers? Why volunteer something that reduces your profit, isn't natural, and is now hard to find?

Just my opinion and you know what they say about my opinion on here. LOL

I got one from Bass Pro Shops

But it was a few years ago so they may not have them anymore either. But give them a try and also the Gander Mountain is a good suggestion.

Isn't natural?

And a regular stringer IS natural?

Quite frankly, if it looks good and it's $20 bucks and your customer wants it, what's the big deal? Charge your customer $35 bucks for it and everybody's happy. A regular metal stringer doens't look as nice and (sorry Dave, just my opinion here) gold paint ain't going to look as nice as gold plating. It'll look like a stringer painted with gold paint...

There you again Marty. You're starting to annoy me.

Do you know anyone that uses a gold stringer? I had never heard of them until i did taxidermy. I used to use a regular stringer all the time. Now I put everything on ice.

It was said (or should I say typed) tongue in cheek :-)

Sorry Dave!

You gotta put the LOL or a smiley face or something when you're joking just to be sure. I can't see your face when you're typing - lol!
