Help on Fish repo measurements

Submitted by Repo-man (cars only) on 12/16/05 at 8:49 AM. ( )

Can someone tell me what size form to order if I only have length and girth of fish? In this case, I have a customer who released a 37" northern that had a 17" girth. All my catalogs ask for the eye to base of tail measurement. Is there a math formula I can use to estimate what size of repo form to use? ie., would the head and tail length be approximately 30% of the total length of fish? Any help would be very much appreciated.

Fiberglass reproductions are ordered by total length and girth. Foam mannikins are ordered the way you described.

Total Length

To order a repo mount you need the total length from tip of nose to tip of tail. If 37" is the total length that's all you need. Try Matt Thompson Taxidermy Supply and they should have the repo blank that you are looking for. There blanks are some of the best.......

Good luck!
