Fish adhesive

Submitted by Chris on 12/27/05 at 8:46 AM. ( )

I have been using Rhineharts fish glue for quite a while. I use fish manikins. I am looking to save some money and buy a good adhesive locally. Does anyone know of a good adhesive that works well on fish?
Thanks, Chris

Mainstays latex(98 cents a tube) at Wal-Mart works well. Rely-on at Ace Hardware is my favorite because of it's Either one is fine at $1.50/tube or less. DAP adhesive caulk is the best(My opinion) but hard to find.

Multi purpose floor adhesive from the local hardware store works better than anything else I have used.

Use what you use for deer!

That is if you use Buckeye surpreme, that's what I've used for quite sometime. I tested it on several personal mounts quite a few years ago and it was solid (couldn't pry the skin from the form). Plus it's white, which helps with the painting process..

PB brand multi purpose floor covering adhesive. I get mine at Menards
it's about $7.00-8.00 gallon, works great on deer also. It's a major savings and works as good as buckeye.

Cecil put me on to this product. You can buy it at WalMarts for around a dollar a tube. I have been mounting fish for a long time and this is the best adhesive I have found. It's the same thing Doug is talking about. Mainstays Projects, all purpose white latex caulk in a blue and white tube,no silicone.

Wall Mart's "latex" ......Try it out...

Wal-Mart has it,for 1.98 * dont use the "Silicone" type, *If you can get DAP caulk- it dryes fast and holds just the same.

5 gallons at Home Depot for about $30 bucks. Works great, and you won't find anything cheaper...
