after you push the search button. This has been covered ad nauseum. That's probably why you aren't getting much of a response.
nice cheap method i use is i just saok them in alcohol overnight. Works great and never had any problems.
I could be wrong but I dont' think alcohol will do it. And you never said what kind of alcohol: Ispropyl or what?
I think you've been lucky as you aren't doing the big greasers.
Yea, just regular rubbing alcohol is all i have ever used. It works great. I grew up in Upstate NY catching tons of Salmon and trout. Used this method on every one of them and i have some mounts from 10 years ago still hanging on my wall that i did this way. Look good as new. Never had any problems with the grease. Trust me it will do the trick. You can pay more for some different degreasers if you want but the results arent going to be any better. Its up to you. Just sharing a cheap method that has worked great for me.
It would sure smell better than the mineral spirits I use. If it's so good why isn't anyone else using it?
guess they just havent tried it. I know several other taxidermists in Upstate NY that use this method and have never had one complaint. They also do about 150-200 trout/salmon a year. Like i said, just a suggestion. To each his own. I just know it works well and i like it along with the customers not having any complaints so i stick with it.
