Cleaning a 'cuda hean

I recently caught a 30 lb cuda and want to remove the flesh from the skull. What would be the best way to get this done? thanks jim

I suspect you're trying to preserve the head and if you are, you're gonna be in trouble. If you want the jaws, remove them as you would a shark, but to clean the head, you'll need a "spoon". Still, the head is going to be greasy and will deteriorate on you badly.

Hey George, I was thinking about saving the skull to use it as part of the display with the pictures of fish, doesn't sound like a good idea any more, Thanks for the response, JIM

There are skull specialists who clean these things with Dermestid beetles. If you use a cast head for the mount, you can then get the skull back from these folks. They advertise in Breakthrough Magazine.
