Removing Apoxy Sculpt

Submitted by Doug on 8/25/06 at 6:21 PM. ( ) 65.183.161.82

I've got a couple of mac-z-scalers that have Apoxy Sculpt residue left in the scale depressions. I was able to pick some of it out with a dental pick, but it's like dipping water out of the ocean with a spoon...eh? Does anyone know of anything that will either soften cured A.S. or better yet, dissolve it? If not I'll have to either spend a month of Sundays picking the stuff out or just shuck out the money for new ones.

Can you soak them in water?

Seems to me the water should soften it up eventually - not sure though.

Use your bird flesher

The rubber is hard enough to be resilient and the Apoxie is stiff enough to be lifted by the rotary brush. Worked for me. Then I coat the scaler with Vaseline before I use it from now on.

Go with cookin Oil. (PAM)
