Requesting any info. available on this species of sunfish.I currently have two specimens mounted and ready for painting.I discovered that this pair were not bluegills as previous assumed. My information was accidentally revealed when searching for a paint schedule for a red ear sunfish(shellcracker)at www.photolib.noaa.gov/historic/nmfs/images/figb041p.jpg.The Broadear Sunfish pictured in fig.0419 plate 157 appears,in every detail to be the exact species I have. All info.appreciated( specifics on paint schedule)if different from bluegills.Thanks!
