Antelope Horns

Submitted by Scott Woods on 9/27/00. ( )

I have 2 sets of antelpoe horns that were brought to me to experiment with - needless to say I didn't have time to play with them right away. They have hung over a ceiling joist under my canory for 10 months now - what is my best bet for removing them from the skull cap?

If you have a micro wave that they'll fit in that's the easiest way to do it, if not submerge the skull up to and over where the horn meets the skull, toss a hand full of soda ash [sal soda] in and bring to "near boil" they should be able to be knocked out at that point. Look in the archives, this subjest has been covered extensively and often...good luck to you

The microwave is the process that I used and it worked well. I just didn't know if the amount of time that had passed if I would encounter any problems - I had been through the archives. Thanks for your response.
