what type of eyes and earliners for mouflon sheep

This is my 1st sheep and the taxidermy catologs aren't
real specific on what eyes and earliners to use.
should I just order sheep eyes and earliners, they
have that in catologs. Also are gamefarm sheep pretty much
all the same?

Bonded Ear Method

Rodney,

I wouldn't bother with purchasing earliners for this specimen. The ears of these sheep are quite small in relation to their heads and would be an excellent candidate for the bonded ear method. You can hardly go wrong with the ears of these sheep. As for the eyes, most suppliers will offer you a choice of light or dark sheep eyes. I would recommend the 'dark' unless you have prior knowledge that this particular specimen had light eyes. As far as the similarities of game farm sheep go, the Corsicans, Barbados, Black Hawaiians (spell check)and Mouflons are very similar in anatomy. The main differences are hair length, colorations, markings, and horn shapes. None of which have anything to do with the form you should purchase. Now, I'm not an expert in the field of exotic sheep but I do raise a few of my own, and I'm sure someone will post somthing in argument to what I have said. But, I haven't seen anyone rushing to help you out on this one, so I thought I would. I hope this info helps you out. If you need any reference photos, I can take a few digital pics of my rams ( Corsican, and Corsican/Mouflon crosses ) and email them to ya. Lemme know. Good luck.
