Wild Boar Questions

Submitted by Dave on 8/28/01. ( )

Two questions. I tore the back of the ear while fleshing. What is the best way to repair? This is my first open mouth mount. Do you fit and mount the jaw set first and then rebuild the lips and attach? What is the procedure for attaching? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Dave, I usually sew torn ears, fine thread tight stiches. Others use silk span and a super glue type product, glue together from the inside. Fit jaw set first in form, mount the cape using a good two part epoxy especially on the face and lip line. Do not get on jaw set. Glue lip skin around form and pin in place until dry. When dry, excess lip skin can be trimmed, than rebuild lip areas with sculpting compound of your choice using good reference photos then paint. Best to get a video just to have some reference on how its done, I do when i mount something for the first time. Good luck Paul

I have looked in several catalogs for a video and have not seen any. Does anyone know where I can obtain one?
