i have a set of elk sheds that i need to mount onto a horn board...do i need to spend 70.00 on one of those shed systems?...or is there a less expensive way to do it? Thanks

on if you have access to another skull. If you do, cut off the antlers at the top of the pedicle, drill through the middle of the pedicle, and thread a lagbolt through the underside of the skullcap and into your predrilled holes in the shed antlers. Some epoxy at the bottom of the antlers and the top of the pedicles will help to stabilize the antlers. Good luck.
Van Dykes has one that cost around $20.00. Worked for me on an antler mount just fine. You will have to cut it down slightly.
